What does dress is ';casual'; entail...? Does it include jeans?

I just got a job working as a advertising representative for my college newspaper. I emailed my boss asking him if dress clothes were necessary or if jeans were appropriate?? He emailed me back saying..';Dress is casual'; What does this include?
